The end is in sight! Well, for a while.

The water restriction is being lifted at 10 tonight! Amazing! We remain under a boil water notice, but schools will reopen (they have been closed for a week now), and people will no longer be advised not to use water if we have it. There are still thousands upon thousands who have no water, and many repairs to make, but at least the systems have recovered enough that people can do laundry, take showers, and stuff like that, without going against a citywide recommendation.

Of course, the rumors continue to fly. Here are a few of my favorites:

-A sewage pipe busted and the water is now contaminated for sure, and you can't even shower with it anymore. (All water quality tests have indicated this is not true.)

-There will be a citywide water shut-off any minute now.

-The police will come knock on the door of any person caught using water, and give them a ticket, and 24 hours with no water service.

We're not entirely out of the woods yet. The rolling blackouts will begin again tonight because our power grids are once again overloaded. There is also another wave of snow and cold temperatures expected beginning tomorrow. Who knows how this is going to go. Hopefully it goes somewhere else. I guess we'll find out.
