He is a big boy!

Orren has rejected his sippy cups, preferring to drink from an open cup, but with a straw. If you give him a sippy cup, he'll throw it across the room and yell NO!!

He's also potty training. We bought him a couple pairs of Blueberry training pants, and still need a few more pairs. The issue with these things is that they are HARD to find! Well, not exactly hard to find on the whole, but hard to find the prints and colors we want, in Orren's size, at a retailer that ships in a timely fashion, and doesn't charge a million dollars for shipping, or an exorbitant price for the trainers themselves. It would also be amazing to be able to order them all at the same time from the same place. That is asking way too much, though. Right now, we only have two for him, the elephants and giraffes. He loves zoo animals so much that these things were an instant hit. I also want to get him the cow print, and one more each of elephants and giraffes. Yes, that adds up to some money, but if you think about the fact that pull-ups cost about as much per package as these training pants cost per pair, and most kids will use them for several months before being completely out of them, thus needing many packages of them, it's still a substantial savings. Plus, these are really good training pants, way better than the ones you can buy in stores. (We have some of those. Orren hates them, and they don't contain anything.)

So yes, the quest for training pants, and Orren currently thinks the potty is the most fun thing in the world.... well, other than toilet paper. THAT'S really a party. It will be amazing if he will potty train within the next month or so. It's weird that just as everyone else is getting into cloth diapering, I may actually have somewhat of a hiatus between babies. I think it's great that he's ready to train. I really do. He is doing such a great job! It's also wonderful that Thak is clearing his unit right now, and doesn't really spend a lot of time at work, so he takes Erin to and from school, leaving me free to work with Orren during those times, and he is home to help Orren with potty training during the day a lot also. Orren likes working on it with daddy, so that helps a lot. I think he's going to catch on before long! He is such a big boy!

Oh, and the final way in which he is a big boy? He is so DONE with strollers. We'll definitely be buying a sit-and-stand so that the new baby can ride, and he can just stand on the board on the back when he gets tired of walking (because kids his age do need a break from time to time). The good news is that a really good sit-and-stand stroller goes for about $220, which is way cheaper than most doubles!
